National Personal Care Worker qualifications and training survey open
17 June 2025The Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is conducting a national survey to understand the qualification and training experiences of personal care workers in the aged care sector.
The 10-minute, voluntary survey is for all paid workers who provide direct, hands-on personal care to older people in Australia, including: personal care workers/assistant; assistants in nursing; home care workers; community care workers; and support workers in aged care settings.
Feedback will help guide future planning for qualification standards, including any gaps in current training. The information will also help ensure personal care workers have the right skills to provide quality care to older people in Australia.
The survey complements recent consultation activity for a national registration scheme to support personal care workers employed in aged care.
The survey will collect feedback on:
· demographics and employment information
· qualification levels and training experiences
· career pathways
· professional development and registration
· training barriers and support needs.
Participation is confidential and anonymous.
The survey is open until 17 July 2025.
