The ANMF participates in policy, advocacy, research, and education to mitigate the effects of climate change and works towards reducing inequity for healthier communities.
Climate Change mitigation and achieving health equity
The ANMF campaigns for a just and democratic society, nationally and globally. We support, develop and promote national policy approaches which reduce health inequalities, address social determinants of health and combat the impacts of climate change.
Empowering nurses and midwives to take climate action
The ANMF appointed its first Climate Change Officer in 2025 to ensure nursing and midwifery has a voice in the development of policies like the National Health and Climate Change Strategy.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health
The ANMF is committed to strong partnerships in working towards improving the health outcomes and life expectancy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Social justice, equity and inclusion for healthy communities
The ANMF contributes to policy, research and advocacy work to support social justice, equity and humanitarian treatment for a fair, inclusive society.
