Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness training

01 June 2022

Cultural awareness training will help build your knowledge and understanding to provide culturally appropriate and sensitive care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in your nursing and midwifery practice.

There are two programs the ANMF recommends for nurses and midwives.

Program 1 – Introduction to Aboriginal Cultural and Community Awareness by Walya Productions

This three hour course is a great place to begin if cultural awareness training is new for you, and Walya has a special price for ANMF members.

Program 2 – Murra Mullangari: Introduction to Cultural Safety and Cultural Humility by CATSINaM

This course is more in depth and developed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses for practicing nurses and midwives.

Both courses are provided by Supply Nation endorsed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations.
